Swansea based web developers NetBop Technologies have won a top award from Web User magazine for their BopSpam product.
BopSpam was launched just over 2 years ago and has received high praise. The product which acts to stop junk email before it reaches the inbox has consistently outperformed rival products, including those from major US organisations.
This is the second consecutive time that BopSpam has won the biennial Gold Award from Web User Magazine, and the report boasts of top star ratings for the product’s features, ease of use nd performance.
Lyn Harris of West Wales Chamber of Commerce is one of BobSpam’s users, and commented, “The Chamber has been using BopSpam to filter its e-mails for the last two years. It has certainly proved worthwhile in terms of saving time and the hassle of having to go through a deluge of e-mails each day to manually filter out the spam mail. BopSpam does this simply and efficiently and we have no hesitation is recommending its use to others.”
Wayne Otterwell of Ammanford based TDW Distribution, is another user, and said, “We have now been using BopSpam for just over six months. In this time it has filtered out over 11,000 spam e-mails! An amazing statistic for a small to medium sized company like ours. I have found the system easy to use, and the daily spam report is both clear and simple. Reporting spam by this method could not be easier. I would thoroughly recommend this service to anybody who has a problem with spam, and that is probably most people with an e-mail account these days!”
Andrew Downie, Managing Director of NetBop Technologies LtdNetBop Technologies Ltd was established by just over 2 years ago and is continuing to build from strength to strength. The company specialises in online applications and is currently working with many private companies, Swansea University and a local Hospital.
NetBop’s Managing Director is 24 year old Swansea University graduate Andrew Downie. Speaking about the award, Downie said, “We are very pleased with the verdict from Web User Magazine and it is great that a business based in Swansea can give the likes of Norton and McAfee a run for their money. The market is rife with fierce competition and it is great for our efforts in the market being acknowledged.”
NetBop is currently taking on trial businesses for BopSpam Corporate which will allow larger corporate businesses to take advantage of the service. The BopSpam Corporate service will be commercially available towards the end of June and will handle MX Records.
Downie is not sitting on his laurels following his award success, and is working on the development of a new product designed to meet the challenges of the future.
